July 8: The NC Main Street program has established a website to help small businesses during the pandemic. The site has a wealth of information including articles, links, how-to videos for marketing and sales, among other items: Small Business Recovery.

June 24: Governor Cooper has signed Executive Order #147 "Extension of Phase 2 Order and New Measures to Save Lives in the Covid-19 Pandemic." This EO extends the current rules for Phase 2 reopening until July 17th.  This also puts in place requirements for the general public to wear masks in any setting in which they are unable to social distance. This includes all retail establishments, dining establishments (when not eating), and other work places. We encourage everyone to read the EO, the FAQs, and the NCDHHS guidance.  

For those businesses having to purchase personal protective equipment please review the grants available through Davidson County that were announced 2 weeks ago (below).

June 8: Davidson County announces two CARES Act grant programs, one to help small businesses and a second to help households that are struggling to meet household bills, such as utilities, rent, or mortgages. The Non-Profit & Small Business grant will begin June 15th and is for the purchase or reimbursement of Personal Protective Equipment for staff and customers. The Household Emergency Assistance program will begin July 1st.
