Animal Control

The Animal Control Officer investigates and responds to stray, unwanted, neglected, sick and injured animals as required for rabies control and humane treatment.  The Animal Control Officer also responds to citizen complaints, investigates animal law violations, public safety concerns, alleged nuisances and humane complaints; sets traps, applies first aid to injured animals and investigates dangerous/vicious dog reports.

For animal control issues inside the City of Thomasville, or to request a trap, please call or email the Animal Control Officer Austin Byerly or the Police Non-Emergency Number- (336) 475-4260.

Thomasville Animal Control is available Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.  Emails and phone messages left for animal Control Officers will be returned during these times.  If you need immediate assistance outside these business hours call the above number or 911.
