Fire Prevention Code and Fees

Sec. 38-31. - Adopted.

(a)  The North Carolina Fire Prevention Code, 2012, as amended through January 1, 2012, is hereby adopted by reference as though it were copied fully in this article

As the North Carolina Prevention Code is supplemented and amended by the state, such amendments shall be automatically incorporated by reference into this code as if copied in this article in full.

(b)  Any matters in the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code which are contrary to the existing ordinances of the city shall prevail.

(c)  Whenever within the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code reference is made to the duties of certain officials named therein, then the designated official of the city who has duties corresponding to those of the named official in the code shall be deemed to be the responsible official insofar as enforcing the provisions of the code are concerned.

(d)  Chapter 1, Sections 105.6.35 optional permits for assemblies, 105.6.23 high piled combustible storage, and 105.6.40 repair garages, of the North Carolina Fire Preventions Code, is specifically adopted and incorporated into this Code.

(e)  Fees for the optional operational, mandatory operational, and mandatory construction permit applications to be collected, whether the permit is issued or denied is as follows:

(f)  Operational permits are valid for the period of time specified in the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code.
